Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Entry (Level 1) or Experienced (Level 2) Quality Engineers to support the 787 Program Quality Engineering Team based out of Puyallup, WA on 1st Shift.

As a Quality Engineer, you will dive deep into the intricacies of our engineering documentation, assessing and enhancing how we translate complex requirements into clear, actionable instructions for our production teammates. Your role will be both challenging and rewarding, as you will engage directly in the building process through on-the-floor observations, ensuring that quality is not just a goal but a culture. You will also be a part of our safety and quality transformation through the execution of our Comprehensive Safety and Quality Plan. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Entry (Level 1) and Experienced (Level 2) Quality Engineers.

This position is expected to be 100% on-site. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze engineering documentation to determine process capability and conformance

  • Perform data analysis of defect trends and present findings and recommendations

  • Lead projects to identify root cause and eliminate defects and rework

  • Execute quality build plan changes

  • Recommend corrective actions to address non-conformances

  • Perform engineering change review and verification

  • Continuous improvement of quality engineering processes

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or another regulated industry

  • 1+ years of experience reviewing and summarizing documentation to develop informational or technical materials

  • 1+ years of experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to summarize findings and draw conclusions

  • 1+ years of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) or similar structured problem-solving methodologies

  • 1+ years of experience leading or supporting projects with cross-functional or cross-business unit teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree

  • Experience in Quality Engineering or production engineering

  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar quality management system (QMS) standards

  • Experience using analytics tools and software

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

  • Proactive, collaborative mindset with a focus on building positive working relationships

Education/Experience:

Entry (Level 1):

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor), or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.

  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 2):

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.

  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Summary pay range (Level 1): $74,800 - $101,200
