Job Overview:

This position is responsible for making sure that engineering and manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials and processes.  This includes ensuring that employees are trained to the right quality standard and that all safety requirements are met throughout the production process and facilities.   This is a ‘hands-on’ and onsite position that requires solid understanding of manufacturing process, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with production assemblers, fabrication specialists (welding, machining, paint) and test technicians. 

Primary Job Responsibilities   

  • Monitor and maintain Raycap quality processes to assure continual 100% customer satisfaction   
  • Inspect and test various parts of manufacturing including products, components, processes, and comparing against predefined standards
  • Provide quality tools, methods, and data to assure ongoing defect-free quality both internally and at the supplier level
  • Analyze problems reported and develop improvements to overcome them
  • RMA Analysis and NCR resolution internal and external
  • Statistical analysis of manufacturing data and creation of reports for senior staff members based on quality documentation
  • Maintain and improve the processes for Quality Management (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), Telecom Quality Management System (TL9000) and Occupational Health & Safety (OSHA) which includes process auditing, OFI’s implementation, Quality Systems Review and documentation writing or editing
  • Serve as manufacturing focal point for intelligent analysis of quality issues, determining true root cause and permanent corrective and preventive actions 
  • Partner with Supply Chain Management to develop high level suppliers of COTS or custom materials 
  • Inspect incoming components, raw materials, fabricated parts, and in-process assemblies and subassemblies products as required

Qualifications        

  • B.S. degree required in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering; Master’s degree in Quality Assurance a plus
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical field with significant hands-on quality and manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 - Quality Management Systems; ISO 18001 - Environmental Management Systems; ISO 45001 - Health & Safety Management Systems
  • Effective quality analysis, data analysis, problem solving and strategic thinking ability
  • Expert knowledge and application of DFx, FMEA and other quality tools
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across functions within Raycap
  • Effective project management skills that facilitate planning complex projects and timely completion of project deliverables
  • Six-sigma, CQE, CQM, CRE, Lean or other certifications desirable
  • Ability to use MS Office and statistical packages preferred
  • High attention to detail and logical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read component and assembly drawings
