Position Summary

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join an established aerospace manufacturing company in Middletown, CT. This is a 6-month temp-to-hire opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

The Quality Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Inspection teams to maintain product quality, resolve quality issues, improve processes, and ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support quality engineering activities throughout the manufacturing process.

  • Investigate non-conformances, defects, and customer quality issues.

  • Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions.

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

  • Apply GD&T principles when evaluating drawings, tolerances, and inspection results.

  • Support first article, in-process, and final inspection activities.

  • Work with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to identify and resolve production quality issues.

  • Assist with internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.

  • Support supplier quality activities and resolution of supplier-related issues.

  • Maintain quality records, documentation, and inspection data.

  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.

  • Ensure products and processes meet applicable customer, company, and aerospace quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Working knowledge of GD&T.

  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.

  • Understanding of quality systems and manufacturing processes.

  • Aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Experience with audits, non-conformances, supplier quality, or continuous improvement is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
