As the Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting quality and continuous improvement initiatives across your assigned location(s). Your primary focus is to ensure product and process compliance with customer requirements, internal procedures, and regulatory guidelines. In this role you will also analyze data, conduct root cause analyses, and develop corrective and preventive actions to drive quality improvements. Lastly, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and meet customer satisfaction standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead implementation of quality initiatives for the organization; particularly related to PMO (Project Management Office) initiatives.
- Address external complaints including customer communication, investigation, root cause determination, and corrective action development.
- Support development of systems to facilitate real-time access to quality data. Analyze quality data to identify preventive actions and present to Plant and Quality Leadership.
- Effectively interact with Customer Relations, Sales, Operations, and the Purchasing teams to establish quality requirements. Test new products and materials.
- Create functional testing, as needed, to meet customer requirements and train personnel on new test methods.
- Write and update SOPs for current processes as well as future processes that will be implemented. Focus on 1-point lessons which are visual in nature.
- Work with the operations team to implement improvements to existing products and processes to improve product quality.
- Issue all Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s), Certificates of Destruction (COD’s), C of C’s and all quality related paperwork that customers and vendors require.
- Review quality procedures and forms for effectiveness (Maintain Best Practices) and train personnel on any new or modified procedures.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, committee members, and other organizational staff to maintain compliance and formulate corrective actions when deficiencies are noted.
- Travel to designated Company sites and customers as needed. Investigate complaints in the field and disposition product as required.
- Communicate goals and objectives and motivate employees to achieve company quality standards. Inform Management of quality policy violations.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in Quality.
- Previous experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience and understanding of quality and manufacturing related documentation.
- Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Ability to think proactively and solve problems creatively.
- Ability to build consensus and lead change.
- Ability to prioritize different tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with other software and technology (Smartsheet, QMS, ERP systems, etc).
Supervisory responsibilities:
- May supervise quality personnel at assigned facilities.
Training requirements:
- Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting, sitting, standing, crouching, required.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment.
- Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follow all safety requirements in the production area.
- Safety shoes and glasses highly recommended in the Plant Warehouse and Production areas.
Travel requirements:
- This position will require occasional travel, up to 25% annually to customer facilities or off-site seminars and training.
