Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team at our facility in Livonia, MI, 48150. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products through the use of ERP software, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), GD&T, Blueprint Reading, Quality Control Data Analysis, and PPAP Process Experience. Responsibilities
- Utilize ERP software to manage and track quality control processes
- Operate and maintain the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to perform accurate measurements and inspections
- Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, including GD&T and blueprint reading
- Conduct thorough quality control data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) requirements
- Facilitates planning and development of quality control systems for specified products or processes.
- Collaborates with representatives from various functional groups assigned to the product or program, including, but not limited to, design engineering, purchasing, production, manufacturing engineering, and inspection staff.
- Reviews design plans, manufacturing process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand the scope requirements and function of products.
- Assure compliance to and provide guidance and expertise regarding interpreting governmental regulations, IATF 16949/ISO standards and internal quality policies.
- Perform both internal IATF 16949/ISO audits and external supplier audits. Participate in supplier certification process and develop qualification requirements for purchased components and services.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in using ERP software for quality control purposes
- Experience operating and maintaining Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Ability to perform accurate and precise quality control data analysis
- Prior experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline with at least five years of related experience OR Associate's degree with related coursework plus a certified quality engineer certificate required.
- Experience in an IATF/ISO environment conducting audits
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
