Who will you be working with?

Our Wabtec Young Touchstone team combines knowledge of our customers’ product platforms/processes with industry expertise to deliver unparalleled product solutions. Here you’ll interact daily with all support team functions to solve problems and will partner with other key stakeholders to support our customers and their operations.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions group, you will be responsible for Providing leadership and direction to the Quality function by ensuring the safe and efficient performance of the facilities, employees, and operations. You will provide services and support to internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure materials, processes and products meet or exceed specifications. This position will report directly to the Director of Quality of the Young Touchstone facilities in Tennessee.

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Be a self-starter who works well with management
  • Strong Problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Oracle, Reliance
  • Ability to start and complete projects with little or no supervision
  • Understand/Demonstrate ability to utilize lean, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Ability to lead in a group setting as well as independently
  • Strong Work Ethic and commitment to the business unit

What will your typical day look like?

  • Frequent daily face-to-face interaction with employees in an operations environment
  • Support Quality Technicians, Receiving Inspectors and Quality Auditors
  • Support Quality Lab activities
  • Create periodic quality reports
  • Work with design and manufacturing engineering in the improvement of product and processes
  • Troubleshoot root causes of scrap and customer complaints
  • Investigate customer complaints in the field as required
  • Lead our Supplier Quality Process at the BU level. Investigating and solving supplier quality issues
  • Travel as needed perform supplier quality audits and to investigate supplier quality issues
  • Engage in Supplier Development and Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Manage onboarding process for new suppliers
  • Manage supplier SCARs and associated back charges
  • Ensure controls are in place for transfer of parts between suppliers
  • Assist in the development of corrective actions and support CAR process
  • Assist in developing and maintaining process control plans
  • Support Customer PPAP process
  • Identifies and applies SPC Techniques to manufacturing and quality processes (where appropriate)
  • Support Process/Product Audit Compliance process
  • Identifies and executes Continuous Improvement activities
  • Support Six Sigma activities
  • Document Control process

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus, if eligible.
