REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to the Quality Manager.


PURPOSE

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Quality Procedures in compliance with the TS/IATF Quality System Standard;
  • Interpretation of established Customer and internal product quality standards;
  • Participate in and/or coordinate APQP activities.
  • Ensure implementation of necessary procedures and work instructions to meet requirements of Quality System. Affect processes when needed.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 APQP

3.1.1 Participate in and/or coordinate internal APQP activities, including development of schedules and status reports;

3.1.2 Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, and Purchasing to provide all documents and tests per JCSNA and Customer requirements;

3.1.3 Coordinate check fixture and gage development;

3.1.4 Provide customer support as needed.

3.2 PPAP

3.2.1 Coordinate PPAP Submissions for assigned programs per JCSNA and Customer requirements and maintain status reports; 3.2.2 Maintain PPAP Submission manuals for assigned programs; 

3.2.3 Alert management of any schedule concerns;

3.2.4 Assure the PPAP Approvals, or Interim Approvals, are communicated per applicable procedures to all affected departments.

3.3 Metrology

3.3.1 Development of gage control and calibration system per applicable procedures;

3.3.2 Supervise and/or perform part L/O activities as assigned, including setting priorities, problem resolution, and issuance of monthly activity report;

3.3.3 CMM Programming as assigned;

3.3.4 Ensure that problems are communicated to appropriate departments and corrective actions are taken and documented.

3.4 Material Review

3.4.1 Participate in MRB meetings as assigned per JCSNA procedures.

3.5 Supplier Quality

3.5.1 Supervise Receiving Inspection and all associated activities per JCSNA procedures as assigned;

3.5.2 Monitor and follow up Supplier corrective actions;

3.5.3 Coordinate APQP and PPAP activities per applicable JCSNA procedures.

3.6 SPC Program

3.6.1 Assist in development and implementation of applicable procedures to meet JCSNA policies and Customer requirements, including training, problem solving, and review meetings;

3.6.2 Ensure Control Plan requirements are met;

3.6.3 Provide support to Manufacturing in regards to root cause analysis and problem solving.

3.7 Corrective Action System

3.7.1 Assist in coordination of JCSNA Corrective Action System (CAS);

3.7.2 Maintain Customer C/A per applicable requirements (i.e., GM’s PR/R system);

3.7.3 Participate in and/or coordinate C/A activities as assigned.

3.8 Manufacturing Support

3.8.1 Provide quality support as needed to assigned areas;

3.8.2 Communicate internal and external quality concerns to applicable departments;

3.8.3 Conduct training for Plant associates in regards to applicable quality procedures and instructions, inspection methods and measurement, and reaction plans per applicable schedules;

3.8.4 Development and maintenance of inspection instructions per Control Plan requirements and applicable JCSNA procedures.

3.9 Customer Support

3.9.1 Field Customer calls for assigned areas, issue RA”s as needed, and ensure follow-up;

3.9.2 Issue CAR’s for customer concerns.

3.10 General

3.10.1 Process potential and capability studies as needed;

3.10.2 Monthly activity reports;

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibility.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional environment, as well as a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This role also is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


QUALIFICATIONS

7.1 High school diploma or equivalent.

7.2 CQE, CQA, or 4 year degree (or willingness to obtain within one year).

7.3 Minimum 2 years automotive experience.

7.4 Familiar with TS/IATF System requirements.

7.5 Experienced in problem solving and reporting (i.e., 8-D, PR/R, QR, etc.).

7.6 Computer literate.

7.7 Based on specific job requirements:

7.7.1 Experience in blueprint reading and GD&T

7.7.2 Experience in Internal or External System Auditing

7.7.3 Metrology (CMM, gage calibration, measuring systems, etc.)

7.7.4 Experience in advanced quality planning

7.7.5 Supervisory experience

7.8 Good communication skills, both oral and written.

7.9 Team player.

7.10 Self-motivated.

7.11 Willing to travel.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

8.1 The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

8.2 This position requires the incumbent to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally and regularly requires walking, sitting, talking, and using hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee may occasionally lift, unassisted, up to 32 pounds. The employee will be required to use a computer for extended periods of time and talk on the phone. Specific vision abilities required by this job are close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.


POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.

This position requires extended hours and possible weekend work.


TRAVEL

Local travel to various worksites is required.
