Position Overview

The Quality Engineer ensures all requirements are met throughout multiple value streams in support of production. This is a highly visible role that works directly with operations and engineering to ensure the integrity of the QMS across functions. This role also works directly with supplier quality as well as managing external quality to ensure customer support and effective resolution of customer issues by conducting investigations and leading problem solving and corrective actions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Promote and adhere to all safe work practices and/or safety policies.

  • Drive evaluation, response, and timely completion of internal corrective actions and NCM’s.

  • Responsible for customer complaint resolution including containment actions, root cause analysis, and implementation of permanent corrective actions.

  • Organize, communicate, and monitor corrective and preventative action(s)

  • Develops and analyzes statistical data to improve quality programs and measurements to improve plant operation.

  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data.

  • Confers with Plant Operations and Engineering in developing test requirements/specifications and designing test procedures to meet quality assurance standards.

  • Coordinates and manages internal and vendor calibration system.

  • Collects/measures data to focus on continuous improvement efforts and is key partner with Site Operations team in driving quality improvements.

  • Participates in and supports sustainment of Kaizen events and Continuous Improvement activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Language Capabilities

  • English

Education Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a Physical Science or Engineering discipline preferred

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or quality related work experience

  • ASQ certification preferred.

  • ASME systems experience preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Skilled in Lean Manufacturing and 6-Sigma Tools and Methodology

  • Strong problem-solving skills. Use of 8D, A3, 5 why and other problem-solving tools.

  • Preferred high level proficiency in SAP, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Business Objects, Power BI.

  • 3-5 years of experience operating within ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.

  • Experience with ASME and AWS welding codes.

  • Auditing experience

  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite

  • Proactive, customer focused, and results oriented.

  • Must be a motivated self-starter.

  • Highly effective communication and interactive skills.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; this position will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

  • Travel – up to 15%

Pay Range:

$74,209.00-$86,486.00
