Role Overview
The Quality Engineer ensures the highest level of product quality and compliance within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role supports quality management systems, regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and internal standards. The Quality Engineer drives disciplined execution of quality processes, supports audits, leads root-cause investigations, and contributes to a zero-defect culture across all production operations.
This position is hands-on, detail-focused, and essential to maintaining product integrity, documentation accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Actively supports and promotes safety at all times — safety is always first
- Ensures products meet all internal, regulatory, and customer quality standards
- Supports internal and external audits, including regulatory, customer, and third-party audits
- Supports Quality Manuals, procedures, and required training
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements
- Promotes and supports a zero-defect culture
Inspection, Testing & Documentation
- Supports methods to inspect, test, and evaluate products and production equipment
- Performs dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gages, height gages, and optical comparators
- Interprets drawings, certifications, and industry specifications
- Creates APQP/PPAP documentation and First Article Inspection reports
- Supports MRB activities and optimal disposition of non-conforming material
- Maintains and communicates monthly quality metrics
Root Cause, Corrective Action & Continuous Improvement
- Investigates customer concerns and warranty returns through structured corrective action
- Conducts root-cause analysis and drives continuous improvement initiatives
- Collects and analyzes data to support quality improvements and process stability
- Audits internal processes for compliance to procedures and customer requirements
- Audits supplier quality and manufacturing processes for compliance to purchase orders and specifications
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Works closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams
- Builds strong working relationships across all levels of the organization and with customers
- Communicates effectively, adapts quickly, and demonstrates initiative in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- 5+ years of quality engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, electrical) or related technical field; equivalent experience considered
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel (including pivot tables)
- Strong statistics and data-analysis capability
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
