Job Summary:   The Quality Engineer’s primary responsibility is to coordinate the First Article Acceptance (FAAT), Product Conformance (PCA) process and ensure that quality requirements are met for new product launches. This is accomplished by facilitating the FAI/PPAP submission process and coordinating with engineering to ensure process integrity. Quality Engineer shall also be responsible for validating product or process changes and for monitoring existing products or product lines that require ongoing quality verification or validation. This position will also be responsible for the creation of data packages that will need to be provided to the end customer.

Job Duties:

• Work with Project Managers to facilitate the APQP process
• Perform contract reviews to ensure quality requirements are met
• Facilitate the FAI process to include PSW, PPAP, PFMEA or other as required
• Provide measurement analysis to requirements (SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA/gauge studies, etc.)
• Design overall process flows and create control plans
• Coordinate gauging requirements with Engineering
• Validate manufacturing processes
• Provide quality validations for product or process changes
• Monitor existing product that requires ongoing quality validation

Qualifications

Qualifications:

I.     Education and certifications

• Required:   Technical/Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Required:   ASQ certified Quality Engineer and/or Six Sigma certified
• Optional:    Military experience a plus

 II.    Work experience

• Required:    2+ years experience as a Quality Technician or equivalent

III.   Job skills

• Proficient in all phases of APQP
• Read engineering prints to a detailed level
• Thorough working knowledge of FAIs, PPAPs, PFMEAs, and process mapping procedures
• Statistical math skills to include SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA/Gauge studies, and trend/regression analysis
• Accurately measure product with all lab devices including the ability to program computer controlled devices such as CMM/VMM and Spectrophotometer
• Mechanical aptitude to assemble/disassemble and troubleshoot complex part assemblies 
• Effectively break down job processes and document in a clear, concise format
• Advanced PC skills with emphasis on complex spreadsheet creation and proficiency in Mini Tab
• Working knowledge of the injection molding process and its engineering requirements
• Work effectively in a self-directed environment
