Lockheed Martin (LM) Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a motivated and driven Quality Engineer (QE) for a position based in Grand Prairie, TX to provide support to the development programs Missiles and Fire Control Team on the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) program.

What You Will Be Doing

The position will require flexible hours with periodic travel to support LM production sites and suppliers with activity across the United States. Responsibilities include:

Review documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.

Support Integrated Product Teams with reviews of quality data and information on yields, schematics, simulations, test data, qualification reports, configuration audits, drawing reviews, rework, scrap, and non-conformance.

Support product testing at suppliers and sites.
Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.

Attend and lead program part reviews and Failure Review Board meetings, identify trends, assist in problem resolution, and ensure responsible parties meet commitments.

Participate as an active member of Preliminary Material Review Boards and potentially Material Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware in Apriso, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.

Perform and Participate in assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001 / AS9100.

Interface with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality related issues.

Utilize lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.

Work closely with internal and external suppliers and production teams to set up new processes, line validations, work contractual requirements, obtain corrective action, and provide technical liaison support.

Make the final decision on acceptability of product by using measurement tools, drawings and creating and reviewing work instructions.

The position requires previous quality engineering or technical experience in developing and reviewing quality standards, drawings, methods, work instructions and procedures for the production of manufactured and procured products. Failure troubleshooting throughout the production process.

Individual should be a self-starter who can work autonomously with minimal direction in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Facilitation of and presentation in meetings will be required weekly.

Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Subcontracting, Program Management, Suppliers, and Customer to ensure quality standards are implemented and being met throughout the production process.

Analyze program, quality process, and supplier performance, identify adverse trends, understands / identifies risks and drives effective corrective action as well as overall process improvements.

Support Test Engineering activities and collaborate with Software Quality Engineers for all Test Set Related activities.

Basic Qualifications

Ability to travel 20% - 50%

Ability to work a flexible schedule

STEM degree at the Bachelor level or above.

Must be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain Interim Secret prior to start.

Quality engineering experience on R&D or development programs developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products, in particular in the development phase.

Knowledge and experience in Quality processes and procedures.

Able to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test, inspection methods and work instructions.

Failure Review Board experience for troubleshooting failures and identifying resolutions including for electrical testing.

Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools.

Experience in disposition of non-conforming products.

Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management.

Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvement

Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques

Effective strong communication skills, written, oral, listening, technical writing.

Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.

Effectively interact with Engineering, Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Technical Operations, Manufacturing, Government Representatives, and other stakeholders.

Demonstrated presentation skills.

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $67,000 - $117,990. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $77,000 - $133,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
