JOB SUMMARY |
|
Performs inspections and sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products. Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area and/or equivalent experience which is 8 – 10 years working as a technician or engineer. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. |

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
- Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
- Knowledge and experience of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
- Knowledge of the existing and planned approaches and methods for manufacturing products or product components.
- Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility.
- Knowledge of and experience with effectively managing changes to the production environment and process.
- Knowledge of and ability to identify a problem and use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
- Ability to create/develop/maintain project timing plans, Gauge R & R request, operator Quality Instruction Sheets (QIS), Control Plans for quality assurance.
- Ability to immediately and accurately respond to customer complaints both formal and informal.
- Ability to be a New Project Launch Leader (APQP) in prioritizing activities to support customer production requirements, Gage R&R, while being on time, at cost, and meeting quality requirements.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
- Participate in PPAP process in developing FMEA, Control Plans, and quality machine runoff at supplier; oversee line trials, APQP to deadline, Gage R&R; Capability Analysis and Dimensional verifications and Warranty Submissions.
- Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis in design and creating repeatable and reproducing gage systems, improve on current systems, train associates in proper gage handling and usage, and perform variable and attribute Gage R&R.
- Ability to supervise internal and external containment activities.
- Ability to Champion internal and external Corrective Action activities while ensuring they are closed on or before due date.
- Knowledge and experience using Root Cause Analysis, 6M, 5 Why, Cause & Effect and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Performs other duties as assigned

SKILLS & ABILITIES |
|
- Working knowledge of FMEA’s for assigned parts/processes
- Ability to develop professional relationships with external customers to achieve optimal business relations.
- Advanced level of computer skills in all applications

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS |
|
- A bachelor’s degree or a two year technical degree in addition to 4 years of automotive related quality experience
- Prior experience working on new automotive part related manufacturing launches
- The ability to communicate at a high level, both receiving and disseminating information for clear understanding
- Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
- Has a fundamental understanding of automotive quality systems, methods, tools and problem solving techniques.
- The ability to make complex judgments in the interest of the company and employees
- Proficient computer skills in all applications
- CQE certification or Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification preferred
