**General Description: **
This position is responsible for leading and managing plant wide efforts regarding quality, process control, and continuous improvement. Supports the overall plant goals in all areas including safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring adherence to daily product control measures; analyzing historical trends and facilitating corrective actions; supplier management of incoming raw material; overall function of the quality lab including supervision of the quality technicians.
Position Functions:
- Oversee the facility's quality management system, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality control processes for incoming materials and finished products.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and data-driven methodologies to improve product consistency, process capability, and overall quality performance.
- Foster a proactive quality culture by leading root cause analysis, corrective action programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related communication with customers and suppliers, addressing concerns and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Investigate customer complaints, determine root causes, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in technical discussions and collaborative meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support quality and process improvement objectives.
- Manage laboratory operations, including testing procedures, documentation, equipment maintenance, software systems, and supervision of quality personnel.
- Conduct supplier assessments and audits to evaluate material quality, process capability, and compliance with established standards.
- Direct and oversee the receipt and unloading of incoming raw materials, including process management, documentation, and supervision of personnel involved in material handling activities.
- Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to ensure efficient material receiving and unloading processes.
- Manage raw material inventories, chemical storage, blending operations, and associated personnel to support production requirements.
Salary:
- $100,000/year - $120,000/year - Based On Experience
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, Chemical)
- Previous experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing envrionment
- Six Sigma Black Belt certified and experienced in SPC. Experience managing people, multiple priorities and projects.
