As a Quality Engineer, your work will directly impact our operation by driving improvements in COPQ, product quality, and process efficiencies.
Immune Specific Accountabilities
- Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Responsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns.
- Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Recognizes and understands the Just Culture policy.
What you’ll do:
- Maintains a safe work environment through compliance with all established safety and environmental programs.
- Analyze defect data and establish trend charts for review by management.
- Lead root cause and corrective action for customer returns and warranty reviews.
- Conducts studies to stabilize or improve process capabilities and efficiencies.
- Performs internal process and product audits to ensure conformance to all internal and external requirements.
- Audits new processes to evaluate precision and accuracy of production, testing, & measurement equipment.
- Analyzes and summarizes compiled data from test and inspection reports.
- Generates statistical reports identifying quality concerns for submission to various levels of management for review and corrective action.
- Researches quality methodology and solves quality problems with engineering staff.
- Assists process & training department with the development and presentation of training sessions on quality activities in areas such as measurement methodology, statistical process control and test fixture operations.
- Monitors assigned projects for work in progress to ensure that quality and regulatory standards are met and that project designs are effective through the entire process; approves changes to designs or schedules as necessary.
- Produces periodic project status reports comparing actual to forecasted timelines.
- Provides, on an as required basis, technical advice with respect to quality system criteria, airworthiness and regulatory requirements.
- Carries out special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Quality Management, Aviation Safety, Engineering or similar) with minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality or QA Engineering or equivalent of 5 years of experience with Associates Degree.
- Strategic planner with excellent project management and leadership ability.
- Strong communicator in both verbal and technical writing.
- Thorough knowledge of quality analytical tools and problem-solving methodology.
- Able to problem solve, process information quickly, challenge current processes and take initiatives towards improvement.
- Works well in a collaborative team-based environment.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints or technical figures.
- Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
Preferred Characteristics:
- Experience in an MRO or other aerospace industry.
- Experience in aviation maintenance, precision machining, NDT or welding.
- Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to maintenance and certification for products processed by the organization.
- Thorough knowledge of gas turbine engine theory and performance.
- Thorough knowledge of NADCAP, AS9100, AS9110, and/or ISO9001
