The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring products meet all customer, engineering, and internal quality requirements. This role combines hands-on inspection and CMM programming with quality engineering, problem-solving, and continuous improvement responsibilities. The Quality Engineer supports production, suppliers, and customers by providing inspection methods, quality documentation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and oversight of the Quality Management System.
• Develop, maintain, and execute CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS and PolyWorks
• Perform dimensional inspections including first article, in-process, final, PPAP, and dock inspections
• Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and GD&T
• Provide inspection documentation and technical support to manufacturing
• Participate in APQP activities including control plans, PFMEAs, gage R&R, and process verification
• Complete ISIRs and PPAP submissions
• Investigate and resolve internal, customer, and supplier quality issues
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
• Support ISO 9001:2015 audits and documentation
• Perform supplier quality audits
• Conduct capability studies and statistical analysis
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform incoming material and dock inspections
• Maintain calibration of inspection tools
• Train production personnel on quality requirements
• Communicate with customers on quality matters
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes
• Advanced understanding of GD&T and inspection methods
• Proven CMM programming skills
• Experience with SPC, FMEA, DOE, and process validation
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Minimum 2 years quality or manufacturing engineering experience
• Minimum 3 years CMM programming experience (PC-DMIS preferred)
• Experience in stamping, drawing, sheet metal, or welding preferred
