Description

Develops, applies, and maintains quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Serves as a quality assurance resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Supports concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing quality assurance and the customer.
  • Designs and implements methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the AS9100, ISO 9000 and ISO14001 requirements.
  • Promotes and executes quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents, and reports.
  • Assists in process certification and product qualification.
  • Develops, executes, and analyzes quality reporting measures.
  • Reports to management on quality issues, trends, and scrap.
  • Interfaces with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assures that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • May compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
  • Reviews customer’s purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensures that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
  • Reviews suppliers purchase orders and establishes supplier quality requirements.
  • Coordinate the processing of returned product from customers.
  • Respond to customer complaints and coordinate corrective action activity.
  • Develop visual standards.
  • Release quality alerts and raise awareness of quality issues for all parties.
  • Work with engineering on the disposition and follow through for non-conformances.
  • Participate in FMEA and other risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Assists in the development of quality policies, procedures, inspection methods and testing methods.
  • Leads or facilitates root cause corrective action activities.
  • Participates in internal and supports external quality audits.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Strong computer skills including QA applications and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and database applications.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to apply the principles of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to apply mathematical fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in engineering, or a technical field required.
  • 3+ years quality engineering and/or engineering experience required. Certifications and education will be considered in lieu of experience.
  • 2 years GD&T experience or GD&T certification preferred.
  • 1 year audit experience preferred.
