Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the planning, estimating and procurement departments with the product realization process to include identification of risk assessment, configuration management and key characteristics
  • Verify and approve Orion generated drawings and mylars using customer supplied digital data
  • Perform First Article Inspection in accordance with AS9102 standard as required
  • Assist the Quality Manager in designing standards, procedures and work instructions that meet regulatory and customer driven requirements
  • Apply disposition of nonconforming material; using industry experience, provide solution driven approach to prevent reoccurrence of non-conformances
  • Monitor internal audits, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans
  • Ensure that procedures and work instructions are followed and Quality Management system is adhered to
  • Train, mentor and assist less experienced inspection staff in skills, abilities and knowledge related to quality requirements
  • Establish priorities, assign tasks, monitor activities and evaluate performance of staff
  • Investigates and coordinates resolution to customer rejections and complaints
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred 
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience, and/or training or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience with ISO 9000/AS 9100, FAA regulations, part inspections and conformities, the proper use of inspection equipment, corrective/preventative actions, root cause analysis, internal auditing, and vendor quality surveillance preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Supplier development and customer quality support experience
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent internal/external customer service skills
  • Time management – ability to complete tasks/projects with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Required to work as an interface with high profile and demanding customers regarding quality of parts

Wage Range:  $90,000 - $115,000 yearly, depending on experience

The pay range for this role considers several factors, including but not limited to required experience, skill level, prior training, education, and other business needs.
