The pay range per hour is $20.19 - $36.35

PRIMARY FUNCTION

As a Quality Management Technician you’ll be responsible for supporting food safety and quality while complying with and endorsing safety and sanitation regulations and standards. You will inspect freight per Target and USDA procedures, and ensure quality of the items in storage while managing expiration of inventory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Able to lift and carry merchandise weighing 35-45 lbs. frequently throughout a shift and up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to read, utilize matching skills and comprehend department/product documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be trained on powered equipment as needed and use tools such as box cutters and thermometers.
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and various other computer application
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
  • Strong prioritization, organization, problem solving, and decision making with follow up skills.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in food safety and quality principles and practices, and FDA and USDA/Target inspection requirements.
  • Ensure vendor compliance to Target requirements with regard to food safety, quality and regulatory obligations ,and partner with stakeholders to hold vendor(s) accountable
  • Model and promote a culture which champion Target’s values, competencies and FSQR compliance
  • Other responsibilities to support the FSQR team, as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Work independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to lift and carry merchandise weighing 35-45 lbs. frequently throughout a shift and up to 60lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to read, utilize matching skills and comprehend department/product documentation
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to operate computer systems with minimal direction after receiving training.
  • Ability to research defects/issues and root cause the drivers of those defects.
  • Ability to perform basic data analysis in excel.

REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports directly to the Quality Control Operations Manager in the Food Distribution Center through the Quality Pyramid within the HQ Food Safety Network. Works closely with operational team members across the FDC, as well as Target merchants.
