Title: Quality Control Technician

Job Description:
- The QA Technician is responsible for performing accurate quality testing, supporting product compliance, maintaining laboratory and production records, and helping ensure finished products meet customer, regulatory, food safety, and company requirements. This role supports high standards of safety, quality, GMP compliance, and continuous improvement across the Sacramento Plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing and product evaluations according to customer, product, and internal specifications.
- Monitor production quality, inspect products and lines, and verify compliance with GMP, food safety, and quality requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and help correct deviations from established procedures or specifications.
- Accurately input analytical data, maintain production and laboratory records, and correct documentation errors when identified.
- Maintain lab equipment, supplies, reagents, and calibration readiness needed for accurate testing and daily operations.
- Communicate process changes, quality concerns, and corrective information to coworkers, production teams, and management.
- Support training of QA employees and trainees on lab processes, procedures, specifications, and expected work practices.
- Assist with audits, quality system improvements, batching verification, and other QA activities as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; degree or coursework in Food Science or related field preferred.
- Previous quality assurance, laboratory, beverage, or food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to perform testing, interpret procedures, identify deviations, and apply corrective action guidance.
- Strong math, reasoning, communication, recordkeeping, and computer skills, including ability to use production and office software.
- Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, quality systems, safety rules, laboratory practices, SDS/MSDS information, and chemical handling expectations.
- Ability to work independently, support team members, remain flexible, and respond effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to read, speak, and write English effectively for procedures, records, communication, and audit support.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle objects, talk, and hear as needed to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Must have vision ability needed for paperwork, codes, labels, product inspection, line observation, color identification, and defect detection.
- May be exposed to heat, wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, vibration, weather conditions, and loud production environments.
