Nyco Products – QC Technician

You notice the particulars others don’t. Nyco Products is on the hunt for a QC Technician who refuses to settle for good enough. The individual that will join our fast paced team has no issues with accuracy and accountability because you hold yourself to high standards and expect the same from others.

At Nyco Products, the QC Technician is an important position. Constantly on the move, you’ll be responsible for performing quantitative and qualitative analysis, and experimentation on substances for the purpose of maintaining quality control of our products. If it looks wrong, it probably is. If the product doesn’t match the work order, you’re on the phone. If safety and security are sacrificed, you’re solving the problem. If it’s messy, you have it cleaned up. If it’s not square, it’s not right, and you won’t stop until it is.

We’re looking for the perfect QC Technician who spends each day challenging yourself and others around you. Because at the end of the day, your name is on your work, and you stand behind it because you know you’ve done your best and won’t settle for anything less.

QC Technician  Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform testing on production batches, raw materials, and finished products using the following tests: pH, viscosity, density, percent solids, titrations, degree Baume, flash point, refractive index, appearance, and scent.
• Data entry for samples, production retains, and documentation from production and suppliers.
• Provide support to the manufacturing processes by giving guidance to adjust batch formulations if a batch is not within product specifications.
• Prepares and submits certificates of analysis for customers upon request.
• Calibrate and maintain lab instruments and operations equipment to known standards.
• Prepares analytical reagents for QC testing needs.
• Collect samples from production, with guidance and help from production as needed.
• Maintains and files batch retain samples.
• Assists in the cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory.
• Assists other QC and Formulation Chemists with their tasks as needed.

Lab Technician/QC Chemist Qualifications:

• Associate degree with an emphasis in Chemistry; or one to two years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is preferrable.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals as well as draft routine reports and correspondence.
• Basic algebra and geometry skills, with emphasis on calculating ratios and percentages.
• Perform basic analytical and wet chemistry tests.
• Knowledge on how to use Microsoft Windows and Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access).
