Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures complete overall quality of finished product, quality at the source, and for reporting any/and all quality issues to Trim Shop Lead Person
  • Reads and accurately follows work orders
  • Ensures quality control is completed in a timely manner.
  • Marks units that are ready to ship and those that need rework
  • Inspects rework, completed rework forms & documents all rework at final inspection
  • Assists in production activities as needed in Trim Shop and performs minor rework as needed for production
  • Assists with maintaining appropriate inventory levels
  • Provides training to fellow employees to promote quality & productivity
  • Adheres to and sustains lean manufacturing processes including but not limited to 5-S, Point of Use Storage, Kanban systems, etc. in order to maintain productivity requirements and a clean, safe work area
  • Floats to other departments, at any time, as needed by the Company
  • Follows all policies and procedures as directed by Cimarron Trailers
  • Regular attendance is a critical function of this job
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Combination of Education and experience will be considered, however, a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience in a quality position is required.
  • Minimum of five years experience in high volume fast-paced manufacturing environment or a commensurate level of experience with related products.

  • Must demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess the ability to work effectively with fellow employees and other departmental QC positions.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and ability to excel working in a team environment.
  • Must be familiar with product construction and application.
  • Must have complete knowledge of product changes and shop operations.
  • Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and ability to work independently.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must maintain high level of professionalism


Authority Level:

  • Stop shipment on any unit that has not passed Quality Control standards and issues must be reported to Trim Shop Lead Person
  • Required to report any problems/issues/obstacles/observations to Trim Shop Lead Person that require more than minor rework


Physical Demands:

  • Required to stand and move about the facility for prolonged periods of time, including up to an entire 8 hour shift as well as any required overtime.
  • Able to stoop, bend, twist, squat, and kneel during the course of the day
  • Required to be able to use hands and arms to repetitively grip, twist, squeeze and otherwise use tools such as welding guns, plasma torches, pneumatic and electric hand tools and other hand tools throughout the 8 hour shift as well as any required overtime
  • Frequent and repetitive lifting of up to 25 lbs. throughout shift and occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs. individually throughout the shift.  Anything over 50 lbs. is team-lifted.
  • Required to be able to safely and effectively handle necessary tools required to perform the essential functions of the position.

 

Personal Protective Equipment that must be worn at all times:

  • Safety Glasses
  • Ear protection
  • Safety Shoes

 

Work Environment:

  • Combination of shop and outdoor environment.
  • Exposed to any number of elements, extreme heat & cold, working in and out of doors between buildings
  • Exposed to loud noises at times throughout the work day
