Summary

Leads quality control initiatives across cheese manufacturing operations, ensuring rigorous compliance with regulatory and food safety standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise daily quality control operations and resolve quality issues.
• Lead USDA, FDA, State, and third-party audits and traceability exercises.
• Serve as Food Safety Team Lead; facilitate meetings and drive initiatives.
• Manage customer complaints, deviations, and product holds.
• Manage COPQ (Customer and Plant deviations), including scrap tracking, supplier credits, and cheese sold as process.
• Maintain and update quality documentation (SSOPs, QWIs, SDS, control points).
• Approve ECNs, COAs, and manage document systems (IQSoft, JDE, Monroe DB).
• Conduct internal audits and quarterly glass/brittle/plastic inspections.
• Track training records and communicate quality updates across departments.
• Collaborate with production, sanitation, and lab teams to ensure product quality.
• Represent the quality team in town halls and cross-functional projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
Required qualifications, skills, and experience for the job; education background, certifications, relevant work experience, technical skills, and soft skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in quality assurance in a food manufacturing setting
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and food safety systems
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation abilities
