Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to join our anodizing facility supporting a window and door manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for inspecting aluminum parts, finished anodized materials, and production processes to ensure all products meet company quality standards, customer specifications, and industry requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience in quality control, manufacturing, metal finishing, anodizing, aluminum products, or window and door production. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to identify defects, and clear communication with production, anodizing, shipping, and management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect aluminum window and door components before, during, and after the anodizing process.
- Verify product quality, finish consistency, color, coating appearance, dimensions, and overall workmanship.
- Identify defects such as scratches, dents, discoloration, streaking, spotting, improper finish, handling damage, or material inconsistencies.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications, internal quality standards, and production requirements.
- Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment as needed.
- Document inspection results, quality issues, rejected materials, and corrective actions.
- Communicate quality concerns to supervisors, leads, anodizing operators, and production personnel.
- Assist with root cause investigations and help prevent recurring quality issues.
- Separate, tag, and report non-conforming materials.
- Perform in-process inspections throughout production to reduce defects and rework.
- Review work orders, production paperwork, drawings, and specifications to confirm product requirements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the anodizing and manufacturing departments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous quality control, inspection, manufacturing, anodizing, metal finishing, or window and door manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience working with aluminum products is a plus.
- Ability to identify visual defects and finish inconsistencies.
- Ability to read work orders, measurements, specifications, and basic production documentation.
- Comfortable using basic measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and production teams.
- Basic computer or data entry skills preferred.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry materials as required by the position.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and anodizing environment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and other protective equipment.
- Ability to visually inspect materials for defects, color variation, and finish quality.
Work Environment
This position is located in an anodizing and manufacturing facility. The work environment may include exposure to production equipment, aluminum materials, chemicals used in the anodizing process, noise, heat, and standard manufacturing conditions. Safety procedures and PPE requirements must be followed at all times.
