Job Overview:

The QC Manager is responsible for supporting NESL through planning, developing and performing day-to-day Ready Mix Concrete, Quality Control activities. The incumbent will support NESL under the direction of the RMC Regional Area Manager addressing daily QC Technician staffing and workplace needs related to Commercial, Residential and Municipal RMC delivery. The QC Manager’s performance in this area is measured by the quality and accuracy of concrete manufactured; customer relations, related to the timely resolution of the essential work functions and related QC requirements; follows all company safety related policies at all times.

Quality Control Supervisor - What Will You Do?

  • Identify daily and long-term potential problem areas related to production of quality concrete.
  • Provide consultant service and expertise to managers and technicians related to concrete quality control.
  • Provide guidance in daily and long-term decision making respective to quality control policies and procedures.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with coworkers related needs and work cultural needs.
  • Review project specifications, write project submittals, verify project mixes, and perform daily order review of key projects for correct mix properties and required admixtures.
  • Participate in project field representation as required including project coverage and testing back-up, project problem investigation and pre-pour meeting requirements; 
  • Work directly with dispatchers, batch operators, drivers and QC technicians.
  • Review and approve time for direct reports.
  • Develop and implement concrete training for coworkers as required.
  • Research and evaluate new raw products and materials for use in concrete.
  • Develop and maintain required mix designs and related mix files.

Requirements - Who Are We Looking For?

  • Associates Degree in Construction Technology or equivalent work related experience.
  •  Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including, but not limited to concrete testing and inspection or related concrete engineering experience.   
  • Demonstrates knowledge of concrete as it relates to design and quality delivery. 
  • Ability to build professional relationships with leaders and external networks such as PennDOT/PTC inspection staff.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to grow and learn.
