Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

Silvus is seeking a Quality Control Inspector-III who will report to the Quality Control Inspection Supervisor on the OQC team. Primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring proper procedures are followed for incoming electronic and mechanical parts and during the manufacturing and testing process. This role is also responsible for investigating any quality issues, anomalies, or failures and will work alongside engineering and suppliers to recommend any necessary changes or improvements.

This position is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently perform and document detailed inspections of complex products and assemblies, including advanced electronic components, cable harnesses, RF assemblies, mechanical enclosures, and integrated sub-systems.
Lead root cause identification efforts for recurring or high-impact inspection issues in collaboration with QA Engineering.
Conduct receiving, in-process inspections; support First Article Inspection (FAI) processes in accordance with AS9012 standards.
Train and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 inspectors in proper inspection methods, tool usage, and documentation practices.
Serve as quality liaison with production, engineering, and supply chain to drive immediate resolution of quality issues.
Assist in the development and refinement of inspection procedures and checklists based on lessons learned and product feedback.
Review and validate inspection records for accuracy and completeness, escalating issues when appropriate.
Act as departmental point of contact during audits, customer visits, or technical reviews related to inspection activities.
Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on inspection experience with electronic components, mechanical assemblies, or similar systems.
Advanced proficiency using inspection tools and test equipment (e.g., multi-meters, calipers, micrometers, microscopes, torque drivers).
Strong experience inspecting against IPC standards (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620), with working knowledge of defect criteria and process controls.
Demonstrates ability to read and interpret complex technical documentation, including schematics, mechanical drawings, BOMs, and routing diagrams.
Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office for reporting, documentation, and communication.
Capable of identifying, documenting, and communicating non-conformances and contributing to corrective/preventive actions.
Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Current IPC certifications (J-STD-001, IPC-J-STD 610, or IPC-A-620).
Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection standards.
Experience supporting audits or acting as a quality SME during cross-functional reviews.
Comfortable collaborating across departments and communicating directly with engineers, program managers, or customers.
Capable of identifying opportunities for process improvement and driving implementation with minimal oversight.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional exposure to heat and cold.
The employee is required to do the following while performing the duties of this job:
- Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
- Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. when receiving incoming part shipments.
- Walking/Moving in the labs.

COMPENSATION: $28.60 - $29.70 / hourly

The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
