Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

VIRA is expanding our quality team! We are seeking to add experienced quality inspectors to our existing quality team. In this role, team members will inspect and test products to ensure production standards are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishing and interpreting quality standards for products a company produces
  • Reading technical drawings and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards
  • Recommending any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes
  • Inspecting and testing the materials and equipment produced by the company
  • Using measuring devices such as digital calipers, micrometers, tape measures and other calibrated measuring devices
  • Quarantining products that don’t meet production standards and recommending strategies to Rework and improve product quality
  • Accepting or rejecting finished products and discussing inspection results with the Project Management and Production team
  • Performing inspections as scheduled and at random to assess product quality and adherence to Vira Insight standards.
  • Timely completion of QC Reports with Findings and photos using our online QC Reporting tool and sending to Stakeholders for disposition.
  • Working primarily within the store fixtures industry with composite woods (mdf), particleboard, metals (steel and aluminum), sheet plastics (acrylic, polycarbonate, petg, etc.).
  • Demonstrating great attention to detail with the ability to observe, identify and analyze problems, including determining root cause within a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no direct reports.

Qualifications


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent presentation verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Self-directed and motivated, with the ability to effectively operate independently
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Expert level proficiency in Excel including but not limited to pivot tables, data analysis, charting, and spreadsheets
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other standard programs

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years on-the-job experience in quality inspection.
  • Good math skills and confident in working with tolerances around 1/32”.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat, and ERP software skills is plus.
  • Ability to support the inspection area in addition to cross-training & supporting all other areas of the QC organization
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish a plus

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work in hot and cold climates
  • Varying work schedules based on business need are sometimes required
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard
  • Ability to read a variety of materials
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to carry and lift materials up to 50 lbs.
