    JOB SUMMARY:      

    Under the direct supervision of the Quality Director, the Quality Control Engineer - Aerospace evaluates the Quality System and the manufacturing process to provide information for quality improvement by monitoring, testing and reporting on the quality of materials and products.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Requirements of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.
    • Ability to understand and work with several different Aerospace companies and understand each of the unique requirements. 
    • Complete quality data packages in the AS9012 aerospace format. 
    • Enter quality data packages, First Article Inspection, and requests for deviation in customers Supplier Portal.
    • Review of Customer Purchase Order and Specifications to assure compliance with customer expectations. 
    • Translation of inspection data from CMM and Quality Control Records into the AS9102 document. 
    • Perform Final Inspection on completed projects with accompanying quality data. 
    • Verification of in-process as well as pre / post outside operations. 
    • With limited supervision and quality work ethic, functions as a member of a customer-driven quality team whose goal is to ensure that product quality requirements established by the customer have been achieved.
    • Must be self-motivated and take the initiative to complete tasks.
    • Knowledge of the AS9100 / ISO9001:215 Quality Management System 
    • Attention to detail a must. 
    • Ability to retrieve, comprehend, and verify technical specifications of Aerospace customers. 
    • Analytical and observation skills.
    • Decision making skills.
    • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. 
    • Good problem-solving abilities using systemic, logical and sequential approaches.
    • Proficient computer skills - MRP systems such as EPICOR, Microsoft Office, and customer portal experience. 
    • Knowledge of ISO /AS9100 requirements.                                                                                                  

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality. Minimum 3 years of experience in Aerospace Quality Environment. 
    • Bachelor's Degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
    • Aerospace Quality experience required. 
    • AS9102 Aerospace requirements.
    • Above average GD&T / Blueprint reading knowledge 
    • CMM experience preferred. 
    • Experience in technical troubleshooting

    According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $35.00 - $47.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
