What you will do:
A key position in the Quality group in ensuring the quality of Aerzen’s products. The Quality Control Engineer will monitor and audit manufactured goods and processes within the Value Stream and carry out all Quality Assurance functions. Will review documentation ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), customer-approved procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Calibration, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions (WIs). Needs to work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements, maintain quality records, and communicate with customers and suppliers.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 requirements.
- Become a subject matter expert on the QMS software, QT9.
- Monitor and evaluate products and processes to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Problem solving - Identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Support and manage suppler returns and corrective actions.
- Manages incoming and outgoing inspection activities and directs workers engaged in measuring and testing products.
- Assists with supplier qualification and audits.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Writes, reviews, and proposes improvements for SOPs and WIs.
- Acts as key trainer in new and revised SOPs and WIs.
- Integrate quality, safety, and CI procedures, forms and work instructions into the QMS for Local, Regional, and Daughter entities.
- Be a source of knowledge regarding local, state, and federal regulations that impact the QMS and quality control.
- Effectively champion and communicate Quality, Safety, and CI concepts to individuals at all levels of the organization to drive cultural change and improvement.
- Lead employees by coaching, counseling, and developing employees as needed
- Support initiatives to encourage employee engagement in safety practices.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required (Four-year college or technical school) Field of Study: Related Studies
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar Quality role.
- Proven track record of successful implementation and maintenance QMS programs.
- Familiarity with risk assessment techniques and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-facility/functional teams and influence positive change.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think critically and develop effective solutions to complex challenges.
- Computer Intermediate Computer Knowledge: Able to create, use, and navigate and perform reports
- Skills: Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Job Specific Software: Basic ability to create, use and retrieve project related information from ERP systems, QMS, Power BI, and scheduling software, etc.
- Certifications & Licenses: Quality Certification (e.g., CQE, CQT, CQA, Lean/Six Sigma) are highly desirable.
- Must have motivational skills and a strong passion to create a Quality & Continuous Improvement culture across all business units.
- Hands-on experience utilizing continuous improvement processes to drive improvements in KPI metrics.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, training sessions, and audits.
- Prepare and submit regular reports for management and regulatory agencies on the status of QMS programs.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures.
- Ability to travel approximately 10%
