GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Assists in the design, implementation, and conformance to the quality control program ensuring products are manufactured to established standards by performing the following duties.

- Verifies the work of operators engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, parts, packaging, palletization, and labels in accordance with established requirements.
- Ensure Production is maintaining accurate traceability records, as required by quality procedures.
- Verify that labels have been printed with the correct information related to each specified product.
- Reviews products placed on hold to set standards and customer product specifications.
- Assists with resolving internal and external quality problems and with implementation of corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, such as S.P.C. and capability studies, and assists with Quality Management System activities as requested.
- Randomly audits problematic jobs and focuses on improvement by working with Manufacturing supervisors/managers and Engineering.
- Perform quality checks per control plan requirements.
- Responsible for monitoring the quality of parts packed into finished goods containers for ZERO Defects.
- Perform and document all visual and/or dimensional checks accurately and timely as required by defined frequency.
- Conduct color checks, as required by quality procedures.
- Audit machines on a daily basis to certify setup.
- Ensure process is functioning in accordance with established quality standards, while focusing on producing ZERO Defects.
- Document findings and audit results.
- Place non-conforming product on hold in accordance with defined procedures and notify Quality Supervisor and Production Supervisor of rejects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/TASKS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to distinguish between product colors. Must pass Ishihara tests for color deficiencies with “Normal” results.
- Ability to learn to read blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to confirm product characteristics with required measurement equipment.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must demonstrate positive communication skills on a regular basis.
- Willingness to continue training to upgrade skills, as required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, hand, or feel; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Vision ability required includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
