Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs Quality Assurance duties such as parts inspection, process control verification, receiving inspection, gage calibration, gage maintenance, evaluation of returned material etc. Documents the result and activities in inspection records such as checklists, inspection logs, gage calibration software, ERP, non-conformance material reports, etc. Assists the Production Team on how to perform applicable inspection tasks. Completes process audits and maintains SPC programs.  Participates in continuous improvement activities.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Inspects manufactured, purchased and returned parts against drawings and other specifications.
  2. Arranges first article inspections and other special inspections.
  3. Monitors and audits operator inspection logs, statistical process control records, check lists etc.
  4. Manages the upkeep and calibration of measuring equipment such as gages and templates.
  5. Performs receiving inspection on a special event basis.
  6. Records inspection results in reports, logs, ERP, gage control software, supplier rejection forms etc.
  7. Performs process control evaluations.
  8. Provides quality assurance training for the Production Team
  9. Assists with special inspection tasks.

Technical Competencies:

  • Two (2) year college degree in a technical curriculum preferred. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of quality assurance related experience.
  • Broad working knowledge of statistical process control.
  • Ability to navigate in CAD software programs.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office computer software experience.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of measuring devices.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping, and crouching.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
