Job Summary
Hartzell Propeller seeks a Quality Assurance Technician to operate to, continuously improve, and implement proper Quality Assurance policies and procedures for our manufacturing facilities.
Key Deliverables
1) Manage quality databases for the manufacturing facilities
2) Identify areas in the business where quality documentation is missing or needs improvement; draft the documents as identified
3) Review and approve documentation utilized in the quality system
4) Certify trained employees for specific job functions
5) Perform gage calibration at all facilities
6) Draft receiving, in process, and final inspection plans and lay-up sheets
7) Determine conformity issues stemming from out of calibration gages, perform corrective actions for non-conforming gages, and purchase replacement gages
8) Audit internally to AS9100 and FAA requirements
Requirements
Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years’ experience in a quality role.
Technical Competencies
1) Excellent verbal and written communication skills
2) Proficient Computer Skills (MS-Office)
3) Layout Inspection – Ability to inspect parts utilizing manual gage – understand inspection instructions
4) Inspection Methods – Understanding of manual gauging, CMM inspection, and new automated technology
5) Print Reading – Ability to read and interpret blueprints, datum structures, and process dimensions
6) GD&T – Ability to read and interpret GD&T symbols and callouts
7) Root Cause Analysis – Ability to develop a plausible root cause and implement effective corrective action
8) Raw Material Processing – Ability to understand the processing of raw materials (castings vs. forgings…etc.)
9) Materials – Basic understanding of material characteristics (Aluminum, Steel, Titanium, Composite…etc.)
10) Process Flow Diagrams – Ability to create and maintain a Process Flow Diagram
