Job Overview:

Our client, a leading manufacturer in the agricultural and consumer products industry, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support laboratory operations and quality programs at its facility in Maricopa, AZ.

This role is responsible for performing chemical and physical analyses, conducting inspections and audits, maintaining laboratory instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate test results effectively to manufacturing and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical and physical testing according to approved laboratory methods and procedures.
  • Analyze test results, identify trends, and communicate findings to plant operations personnel.
  • Enter, maintain, and manage laboratory data within LIMS and SAP systems.
  • Support product release activities and quality documentation processes.
  • Conduct line audits, inspections, and sample collection activities.
  • Assist with external testing programs and R&D support initiatives.
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and minor repairs.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies and inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Complete housekeeping and other departmental responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of laboratory experience, OR an Associate Degree/technical training in Chemistry, Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of analytical laboratory experience.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with analytical instrumentation including:- Gas Chromatography (GC)

    • High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
    • ICP
    • Atomic Absorption (AA)
    • LECO Analyzers
    • Spectrophotometers
  • Wet chemistry experience.

  • Experience with SAP and/or LIMS systems.

  • Knowledge of quality systems and methodologies including:- GMP

    • GLP
    • ISO
    • Lean Manufacturing
    • Six Sigma
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.

  • Knowledge of fertilizer, agricultural, chemical manufacturing, or related process manufacturing environments.
