Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team! Nestled halfway between South Bend and Chicago, along the shores of Lake Michigan - our facility in La Porte, Indiana supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry.
Pay Rate: $28.00 - $31.00, dependent on experience
Shift: Midday (11:00am - 7:00pm CST)
**Training will take place on Day Shift (8:00am - 4:00pm CST) for 3-5 months**
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Performs over-inspection of parts prior to shipment rejecting unacceptable parts.
•Verify shipping paperwork is correct to internal and external customer requirements.
•Maintain the MRB system.
•Process all returned castings.
•Perform periodic product integrity audits.
•Maintain up-to-date documentation and procedures.
•Process required paperwork and conduct necessary dock inspections.
•Process all castings into and out of the MRB crib, updating logs/paperwork as necessary.
•As assigned, verify MES parts cast matches cast logs, work with Alloy Procurement Specialist as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•A minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalency is required.
•Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Skills and Abilities
:
Experience with inspection tools, independent, self-motivated, and able to concentrate on difficult tasks for long periods of time, ability to interpret customer blueprints, specifications, etc., team oriented, good verbal and written communication skills, competent with MS Office applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•3 years of quality related experience is preferred.
•1 year metal cell experience is preferred
