Compensation: $27.14/Hr. - $36.72/Hr.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our products. As a key member of the quality team, you will conduct thorough inspections and assessments to ensure our products meet strict quality standards. You will collaborate closely with management and team members to foster a culture of quality and teamwork within the department and across the manufacturing floor.

Your analytical skills and attention to detail will help identify areas for improvement, allowing you to contribute to the continuous enhancement of our processes. In this role, you will assess products and processes against defined criteria, using established procedures to maintain consistent quality. You will also have the opportunity to participate in refining quality standards and process improvements to ensure the overall success and efficiency of the manufacturing facility and its operations.

Job Summary

Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for inspecting, auditing, and verifying materials, processes, and products to ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer requirements. This position supports incoming, in-process, and final inspections; maintains quality records; conducts internal audits; and assists with corrective and preventive action activities. Quality Assurance Technician works closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to promote continuous improvement, maintain quality management system requirements, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Inspect, audit, and report on materials, services, processes and products using measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with the company’s quality standards
Enter data and maintain paper and electronic quality records when required
Responsible for receiving and outgoing inspections
Conduct internal quality audits
Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement projects (Corrective Action, Preventive Action and Non-Conforming Product)
Collect, monitor, organize, report, and distribute data as it relates to the functions of the Quality department
Represent Wagstaff when interacting with auditors, customers, suppliers and visitors
Prepare inspection sheets for production floor use
Assist in statistical studies and analysis
Follow documented processes
Maintain a high degree of quality
Maintain accurate paperwork
Abide by company policies
Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and productivity
In order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

Associate degree in a technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of quality assurance experience, including five (5) years in a manufacturing environment.
Certification as an ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or ASQ Certified Quality Technician.
Experience performing inspections using conventional hand measuring tools and equipment.
Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspections.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Knowledge of quality management systems and standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar.
Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, preventive actions, and nonconforming material processes.
Strong mechanical inspection skills.
Proficiency in maintaining accurate quality records and inspection documentation.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow documented procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data entry systems.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Experience conducting internal quality audits.
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), sampling plans, and statistical analysis techniques.
Familiarity with non-destructive examination (NDE) methods and practices.
Experience preparing inspection plans, inspection sheets, and quality documentation for manufacturing operations.
Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting quality metrics and performance data.
Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to access quality records, process inspection data, review work orders, and maintain quality documentation
Experience working within aerospace, heavy manufacturing, metal fabrication, or other highly regulated industries.
Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement experience.

Desired Qualifications & Skills

Experience interacting with customers, suppliers, and external auditors.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience supporting supplier quality initiatives and incoming inspection programs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present quality-related information.
Ability to train and mentor employees on quality procedures and inspection techniques.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments while maintaining a strong customer-focused mindset.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, work is primarily performed in an adequately lit, well-ventilated, and climate-controlled general office environment. Close computer work is regularly required. The work usually involves minimal physical exertion. The noise level in the general office environment is usually moderate.

This job may require occasional or more frequent interaction with employees on the manufacturing shop floor. While on the shop floor, employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risks associated with moving equipment and parts, and other hazards inherent to a manufacturing environment. Due to this environment and associated risks, coordination with shop floor managers and employees may be necessary before entering the shop floor, and the use of job-appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing is required on the shop floor. The noise level on the shop floor is often loud.
