Description
The Quality Assurance Supplier and Material Data Manager assists the company’s efforts to maintain continuous quality improvement by managing the Supplier Quality Management system (SQM), managing Supplier and Raw Material approval and risk assessment processes, ensuring that supplier and material documentation is provided to customers and identifying/driving process improvements through data analysis and use of other quality tools.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage the processes for supplier and raw material selection and qualification, risking, supplier performance monitoring, and supplier classification from a food safety and quality perspective, using Safefood 360 Supplier Quality Management Software.
- Maintain supplier and raw material documentation files using SQM software.
- Provide the risk of raw materials for the food safety plan.
- Assist Research and Development Manager with supplier and raw material approval by review of Preventive Controls documentation as required for projects.
- Assist with maintaining the Standard Operating Procedure documentation for Supplier Approval process.
- Subject matter expert for all raw material and supplier-based food safety and quality issues.
- Support the Supplier Corrective Action process as related to raw materials and other supplier matters.
- Manage the Documentation Techs
- Request COAs and other supporting documentation from suppliers, as needed.
- Assist with clerical tasks including compiling data, writing reports and trending data.
- Meet assigned KPIs consistently.
- Follow all environmental, health and safety protocols and provide support for all safety and environmental initiatives.
- Demonstrate management’s commitment to food and personal safety.
- Product Certification submissions and maintenance.
Additional Duties:
- Ensure production of Safe Quality Food at all times
- Lead by example
- Strict adherence to HACCP, GMP’s and Quality Standards
- Strict adherence to Standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Strict adherence and enforcement of all Safety policies
- Reporting of near miss, injuries and property damage
- Assist Honeyville Managers in the removal of barriers preventing company goals and objectives from be obtained
- On-time completion of Corrective actions and other assignments
- Collaborate with other department team members to ensure on time delivery and that company objectives are met
- Assist with Continuous Improvement plans for the Food Safety and Quality Program in the Ogden Division
- Other duties as assigned to assist the Corporate Food Safety and Quality Director
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-years experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety or Supplier Management Processes.
- Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI)
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office and ERP, and QMS software preferred.
- Ability to manage time wisely and able to work with little to no supervision.
- Ability to understand and share Quality Assurance, FDA, SQF and other regulatory standards.
- Ability to develop effective and appropriate formal communications, including plans and schedules.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated desire for continuous improvement processes within scope of responsibilities.
