Quality Assurance / Quality Control Technician (Boise)
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Technician to support installation and operational quality for large scale technical projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work in dynamic environments, has strong attention to detail, and thrives in cross-functional team settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support all QA/QC activities during equipment installation and ongoing operations.
- Conduct onsite inspections, assessments, and verifications using Lean principles.
- Serve as the primary QA/QC contact at assigned job sites, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
- Assist with quality, cost, and installation improvement initiatives.
- Perform Site Quality Audits and maintain accurate records in internal quality systems.
- Create, distribute, collect, and review QA/QC checksheets with mechanical, electrical, and adjustment teams.
- Participate in corrective action processes, auditing, and quality metric reporting.
- Apply Lean methodologies and root cause analysis tools to resolve quality issues.
- Support training efforts to ensure installation teams deliver consistent, high-quality work.
- Partner with site leadership to develop and uphold contractor quality expectations.
- Analyze quality gaps and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups including installation teams, service teams, and internal quality personnel.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or completion of a technical program preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in QA/QC or related technical support role.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and Lean methodologies.
- Experience working in construction, installation, manufacturing, or field service environments preferred.
- Bilingual English/Japanese is a plus (not required).
- Ability to operate hand tools and measurement equipment (e.g., torque wrenches).
- Ability to travel up to 25%, including potential international travel.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in both outdoor construction environments and indoor clean?room style facilities.
Work Environment
- Exposure to mechanical equipment, electrical components, chemicals, and moderate noise levels.
- Regular interaction with field teams, contractors, and technical staff.
