Job Description

The Quality Assurance Lab lead shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Lead the lab in quality assurance analysis to ensure consistent and reliable operation in a lab setting. Implement quality control procedures for the laboratory. 

Primary duties:

• Performs routine analysis to ensure the integrity of data, processes, and results and provides recommendations to improve quality standards.
• Reviews and interprets rest results to ensure accuracy, precision, and repeatability.
• Performs calculations and determinations to validate results of specifications.
• Validates and verifies methods and identifies issues that may affect the accuracy and integrity of test results.
• Completing daily reports
• Works closely with the Quality Control Manager.

Required Technical Skills:

• Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Works very well with numbers.

Required Soft Skills:

• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Coachable and willing to learn.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to plan and execute operational activities. 

Physical Requirements:

(S)he will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. Will be required to lift and move large amounts of product). Will be required to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data and product. May be required to enter the cooler, a cool and wet environment, and the freezer, a very cold environment (less than 20 degrees below zero) and crawl, twist and turn and move and carry objects as much as 40 pounds.

Educations, Certifications and Experience:

The following is preferred:

• Previous lab experience
• Previous dairy plant experience
• Bachelor of Science- Microbiology/Biology/Chemistry preferred

Other:

The Quality Assurance Lab Lead is a hourly position and reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
