Description
Inspects and measures internally manufactured parts or procured products using various measurement equipment to verify compliance with Click Bond and/or customer furnished engineering drawings and procedures. Ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards and specifications including, but not limited to, AS9100 / ISO 9001/ ISO14001. Completes inspection records, Physical and Chemical certifications, performs AS9102 FAI’s, and non-conformance documentation. Makes entries in Click Bond ERP/MRP system. Verifies all documentation is complete and without errors prior to parts being shipped to external customers. Interacts with both internal and external customers in a polite courteous manner. Trains new employees, level 1 employees and other personnel as needed. Assists in discovering root causes and helps develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use inspection devices (micrometer, caliper, optical measurement equipment) to determine product conformance with engineering drawings, purchase orders and associated specifications.
- Setup and operation of Retina automated inspection system.
- Produce reports of inspection acceptance or non-conformance and make appropriate computer entries.
- Stamp mark of approval for procured product, internally produced product, or appropriate shipping documentation.
- Produce reports of traceability and certificates of compliance.
- Test materials as necessary
- Assists with the creation of inspection plans and inspection report forms.
- Assist in training new employees and level 1 inspectors.
- Help in the creation on control plans and inspection plans.
- Create AS9102 FAI’s
- Communicate and work with internal customers.
- Occasional use of the forklift
- Developing root cause analysis and corrective actions using 5-Why and/or 8D
- Perform First shot, In Process, Final and Shipping inspections.
- Coordinates, trains, and audits production technicians in the Certified Manufacturing Inspector program compliant with AS9162 Aerospace Operator Self-Verification Programs.
- XRF material analysis
- Proficient in the management of product in the non-conformance process.
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard free work areas.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Has knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and basic statistical methods.
- Experience with AS9102 FAI (First Article Inspection)
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance), Certification required
- Speaks clearly and confidently in all situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
- Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; presents numerical data effectively.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings including, procedures and written information.
- Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in decision-making process.

- Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person of an alternate plan.
- Written and verbal instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions.

- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer navigation skills as well as experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP/MRP inventory software and manufacturing software.
- Experience with 6-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience with the NCR process and non-conformances
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Read and understand control plans and inspection plans.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer focused mindset.
- Proficient at performing In Process Inspections, Final Inspections, and dimensional inspections and other attributes utilizing inspection devices (such as micrometer, caliper, optical measurement equipment, etc.)
- Forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including but not limited to F-Nams, Injection Molding, Compression Molding, CNC’s, Composites, paint processes, passivation and Assembly depending on the area assigned.
- Ability to write and read English.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years of experience in quality inspection or related position required.
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.) required.
- Has been through audit training or 1-year equivalent audit experience.
- 1 year experience reading GD&T drawings or GD&T certification required.
- Certifications from professional organizations (i.e., ASQ CQI (Certified Quality Inspector) are preferred.
