Position Summary


The Quality Assurance Inspection Manager, will be responsible for leading the inspection group, providing timely support to our internal or external customers, monitoring the quality of GP products, and supporting the application and execution of our AS9100 based quality management system. 


This is an advanced, technical/management position within the General Plastics’ Quality Assurance Department who reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.


Responsibilities


· Maintain a safety mindset with team. Ensuring safety, including following safety protocols and procedures.

· With our Quality Assurance Manager, provide leadership and oversight of our Quality Management System, including our AS9100 Certificate.

· Provide leadership and coaching to the QA Inspection team and manage the group and all related processes (timekeeping, training, processes and procedures, performance evaluations, mentoring and development).

· Responsible for supporting excellent customer satisfaction by assuring product conformance. This includes the philosophy that deliveries are on time and first time correct.

· As required, direct manufacturing floor support

· Provide leadership for continuous improvement to support safety, customer satisfaction, and organizational performance.

Requirements

  Education, Skills and Certification


· Engineering degree in a relevant field, (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science) or equivalent experience.

· A minimum of five years of experience in Quality Assurance and with a minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory position. 

· Experience in quality system audits required. 

· Experience in quality management systems (AS9100, ISO9001, NQA1, etc…)

· Familiarity with relevant inspection procedures and equipment is desired. 

· Strong Leadership qualities and prior supervisory experience.

· Knowledge and expertise with ASTM, MIL, ISO, or other specified test methods applicable to plastics.

· Experience with material flammability testing is preferred.

· Experience with Universal Test Machines, TMA and DSC instrumentation is preferred.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to multitask effectively within a team environment in managing priorities.

· Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) designation or a willingness to obtain certification.

· Base compensation range is $85-$120k annually, depending on experience
