We are currently seeking a full-time person to perform our quality assurance inspections and auditing. This role is important to ensuring all custom parts meet our requirements and assists with other quality departmental duties.

Requirements

  

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform incoming inspections of custom parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Review drawings and specifications to compare to produced goods.
  • Use precision instruments such as a micrometer, caliper, dial indicator, height gauge and other measuring equipment to ensure items meet drawing specifications.
  • Record inspection results data into our quality database.
  • Document nonconformities and communicate results to interested parties.
  • Properly release conforming materials to the correct jobs or departments.
  • Perform in process inspections such as machined parts, welds, control panels, and assemblies.
  • Perform final inspections of vacuum or test systems.
  • Perform calibration of shop tools and schedule preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist with internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and 17025 standards.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in the use of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other gauges
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and weld drawings (symbols, dimensions, tolerances, and notes)
  • Keen eye for details

  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft office, ERP Systems, ABAS a plus)
  • Time management skills
  • The ability to closely follow quality standards.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in workload and priorities.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and directions of management.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in teams.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Weld Inspection experience a plus.
  • Calibration experience a plus.
  • Experience working under ISO 9001 or ISO 17025 standards a plus.
  • Internal Auditing experience a plus.

Required Qualifications/Characteristics

  • 2-3 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent, college degree a plus.
  • Must be able to read and understand part, assembly, weld drawings for purpose of inspections.
  • Ability to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and reach with hands.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on experience.
  • Shift: Monday through Friday regular business hours with some flexibility in your start and stop times. As well as the ability to participate in our 9/80 work schedule, which gives you every other Friday off. (Full-Time Employees)
