Location: Bolingbrook (Onsite)

Salary range: $72,400 to $99,550

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and quality of our valve and valve parts products. We want to hear from you if you are passionate about nuclear safety, quality control, and continuous improvement!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and oversee Crane Nuclear’s Safety and Quality Programs for valves and valve parts.
  • Review and release customer orders, engineering designs, procurement documents, and work order routings to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Lead auditing activities, including internal and external audits, supplier assessments, and maintaining an approved supplier list (ASL).
  • Investigate root causes of nonconforming issues and provide recommendations to eliminate them through Corrective Action Reports, Problem Reports, and other quality reports.
  • Collaborate with management, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies (such as NUPIC, NRC, ASME, and CSA) to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Participate in Kaizen events, Crane Business Systems (CBS) activities, and company planning to achieve operational excellence and meet performance goals.
  • Serve as the point person for all safety, quality program, and customer documentation issues in the absence of the Director of Safety and Quality.

 What You Bring to the Team:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of QA/QC experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of key industry standards such as ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, ANSI N45.2, and other piping codes are a plus.
  • Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with material standards such as ASME and ASTM.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Salary range: $72,400/yr to $99,550yr. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
