Position Summary
The Quality & Finishing Supervisor is responsible for managing the company Quality Management System (QMS) and overseeing the daily operations of the Finishing and Test Departments. This leadership role focuses on ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations while driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, leadership ability, and experience in quality systems within an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
Success in this role means delivering superior-quality products efficiently, safely, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and promote a strong culture of workplace safety
- Develop, maintain, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Manage non-conforming material and corrective action processes
- Supervise in-process inspections, testing, and final inspections
- Coordinate third-party audits and maintain required quality documentation
- Schedule and manage workflow within the Finishing and Test Departments
- Establish and implement best practices for testing and finishing operations
- Train and mentor employees to ensure consistent quality standards
- Develop and report quality metrics to leadership
- Use data-driven analysis to identify and implement process improvements
- Ensure compliance with all applicable build and quality requirements
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas
- Manage departmental resources including tools, materials, and equipment
- Support production goals while maintaining high-quality standards
- Utilize knowledge of AMS testing processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering discipline preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems
- Experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment required
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of process management and process mapping techniques
- Experience working with metrics-based quality systems
- Understanding of AMS testing processes required
