Our Machinery Parts and Service company is looking for a full-time QC Technician to inspect, set up, calibrate, and prepare press brakes and hydraulic shears for shipment to customers. This is a hands-on shop floor position. When QC work is not scheduled, the technician supports general shop operations as directed.
Primary Responsibilities
• Perform incoming inspection on all MVD machines and document any shipping damage
• Set up, level, and calibrate each machine following the MVD installation checklist
• Complete all pre-shipment QC steps including hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and CNC control verification
• Perform control and drive data backups and file them in the correct location upon completion
• Complete and submit the QC checklist and service report for every machine processed
• Communicate any unresolved issues or out-of-spec findings to the Plant Manager before machine is cleared
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all shop safety procedures
• Support general shop floor operations as assigned when QC is not actively scheduled
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training a plus
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial equipment environment
• Comfortable using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and a volt/ohm meter
• Basic electrical knowledge — ability to safely check voltage and verify wiring connections
• Ability to read and follow detailed technical procedures and checklists
• Strong attention to detail — committed to completing every step correctly before moving on
• Able to work independently and manage time across multiple machines
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in a shop environment
• Comfortable working at heights — ladder work is required
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience with CNC pressbrakes, hydraulic shears, or similar fabrication equipment
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems — fluid levels, leak inspection, basic components
• Experience navigating a CNC control interface
• Experience using PLC or drive backup software
