QC Lead / CMM Programmer (QCL)

Halcyon Manufacturing is a modern contract manufacturing company specializing in precision-machined components. We are seeking a hands-on QC Lead (QCL) with strong experience in both CMM programming and manual inspection/metrology.
This role is responsible for owning the execution of the QC department, including:
- Driving QC throughput
- Programming and optimizing CMM inspections
- Directing QC Inspectors (QI)
- Serving as the final escalation point for inspection verification
You must be able to inspect close-tolerance aerospace components using both CMM and manual inspection methods. This includes the ability to independently verify CMM results using surface plate techniques and hand tools.
We operate in a fast-paced, high-mix prototyping environment, and this role requires someone who can balance speed, accuracy, and decision-making under pressure.
Job Duties (But not limited to):
- Program and operate Zeiss CMM (or similar) for dimensional inspections
- Own and manage daily QC throughput and inspection priorities
- Direct and assign work to QC Inspectors (QI)
- Perform and verify inspections using:
- Serve as the final verification point for all escalated inspection issues
- Validate and troubleshoot discrepancies between CMM data and manual measurements
- Conduct and support First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102
- Use inspection software such as High QA for planning and documentation
- Coordinate with machinists, QE, and production to ensure efficient part flow
- Ensure all parts meet customer drawings, GD&T, and tolerance requirements
- Maintain accurate and organized inspection records
- Support internal and external audits as needed
- Drive continuous improvement in QC efficiency, throughput, and processes
Job Requirements:
- 5–10+ years in mechanical QC inspection in a precision machining environment
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings
- Proven experience with:
