Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented QA Technician II to join our team in South Beloit, IL. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products. If you have a passion for quality assurance and a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you!

  • RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform in-process and final inspections on pipe, fittings, and components — dimensional, coating, lining, concrete, and weld-related types — using micrometers, calipers, holiday testers, thickness gauges, and related instruments.
    • Conduct, evaluate, and report NDE/NDT; oversee third-party examination vendors.
    • Collect, prepare, and report test samples — welds, concrete cylinders, and cement mortar lining.
    • Administer welder and welding operator qualification tests; maintain all associated records and logs.
    • Prepare nonconformance reports and maintain nonconforming product logs.
    • Complete and maintain QA inspection and test reports, calibration records, and lab reports.
    • Review, status, and close out production records and quality control reports.
    • Conduct internal audits as assigned.
    • Train less-experienced quality personnel as assigned.
    • Study and apply the TPG Quality Manual, repair procedures, codes, specs, and drawings used in daily operations.
    • Maintain current certifications and pursue new or higher-level credentials as applicable.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2+ years of experience in a QA, QC, or production role in pipe manufacturing, precast concrete, or a related industry.
    • Hands-on experience in at least one discipline: concrete/civil, coatings, welding, or NDE/NDT.
    • Level I or equivalent certification in at least one area; Level II or equivalent strongly preferred — ACI Field Test Technician; AWS CWI or CAWI; NDE/NDT MT, PT, RT, UT, or VT (ASNT SNT-TC-1A or NAS 410); NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector; or API 510, 570, or 577.
    • High school diploma or GED required; trade certificate or STEM associate's/bachelor's degree a plus.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
