We are looking for a Construction Quality Assurance Manager in Austin, TX who is responsible for providing on-site field leadership, quality assurance oversight, and real-time technical guidance on assigned civil, industrial, petrochemical, and concrete construction projects. This role supports successful project execution by reviewing plans and specifications, maintaining quality control checks, coordinating daily field activities, educating craft workers on proper installation procedures, and helping crews perform work safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Provides real-time QA, technical guidance, and field oversight; conducts site walk-throughs and inspections, identifying and communicating deficiencies in safety, quality, schedule, or execution
Reviews project documents (plans, specs, RFIs, submittals) and trains crews on proper, safe, efficient installation methods
Develops and executes crew work plans, ensuring completion of daily reports, hour/production tracking, safety documentation (SLAM, THA, briefings), and equipment inspections
Oversees safe equipment operation, sitework installation (water/sewer/storm/grading), and concrete work (forming through post-pour review)
Completes quality documentation and verifies work meets plans, specs, and tolerances using company technology (iPads, HCSS, etc.)
Monitors progress, productivity, materials, equipment, and costs; coordinates materials and communicates issues to leadership
Develops and enforces Quality/Inspection Plans, maintains documentation from preconstruction through closeout, and tracks deficiencies and corrective actions
Qualifications:
15 years of work experience as a Quality Assurance Specialist, Site Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, Concrete Superintendent, or similar field leadership/quality role is preferred.
Class B CDL
Extensive knowledge of concrete construction, including forming, rebar, anchor bolts, critical embedded items, walls, footings, mass foundations, elevated decks with shoring, concrete placement, finishing, curing, and quality inspection.
Good knowledge of sitework, grading, underground utilities, pipe installation, structures, civil construction sequencing, and construction site safety.
Extremely proficient with transits, builder's levels, grade lasers, and field layout fundamentals. GPS and total station experience are not required but are beneficial.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret DOT-style plans, specifications, drawings, addenda, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
