Job Description:
Quality Process Technician ensures product compliance through auditing processes at the point of production, assisting with quality-driven decisions, QA testing/checks, data analysis and supporting root cause investigations.
Brief Summary of Primary Duties:
· Audit compliance of each shift to safety, quality and production/industry standards.
· Assist operations/production in training issues around safety, quality, process and operating procedures.
· Resolve discrepancies in documentation used to provide information to operators, quality and safety.
· Assist with the compound handling and blending systems
· Provide day-to-day support aimed at identifying and reducing causes of defective product, scrap and production cost.
· Monitor and review processes and systems and recommend corrective actions to improve safety, quality and productivity.
· Enhance equipment reliability in line with plant goals and needs.
· Assist machine operators with quality checks when needed and assist in the quality lab as needed
· Actively participate in continues improvement teams and initiatives
· Be present on changeovers, setups and coach and assist operators in using proper TIs and CDAs.
· Validate process parameters match TIs and setup requirements.
· Assist in ensuring that the proper raw material is being used.
· Provide training to new associates on Quality-related activities
· Serve as the first quality contact for their shift.
· Performs other tasks that are reasonable to the job as requested by Direct Management.

Specific Skills/Training Required
· Be present on changeovers, setups and coach and assist operators in using proper TIs and CDAs.
· Validate process parameters match TIs and setup requirements.
· Assist in ensuring that the proper raw material is being used.
· Provide training to new associates on Quality-related activities
Serve as the first quality contact for their shift.
· Performs other tasks that are reasonable to the job as requested by Direct Management.
· Ability to use hand/power tools, cable cutters and utility knifes to prepare cable ends for testing
· Ability to learn to use and troubleshoot electronic, measuring equipment for conductor resistance measurement
· Ability to successfully complete a Core skills training including but not limited to Basic Electrical Principles and Safety, Basic Cable Construction
· Mathematical skills including understanding decimals, percentages, multiplying, addition, and subtraction
· Ability to read and follow SOP’s, TI’s, CDA’s, FOD’s, QUA’s,DOD’s, industry specifications, and customer specifications as resource documents
· Forklift Training
Education:
· High School/GED Diploma
Experience:
· 2-4 years of wire and cable or related industry
· Manufacturing experience is required
Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements:
· Safety shoes and glasses required when working in the production areas
· Hearing Protection required in posted areas
· Ability to lift 50 lbs.
· Ability to stand 8-12 hours on concrete floors
· Cut resistant gloves required when using utility knives
· Ability to move reels weighing 500-20,000 lbs. with assistance or reel movers
· Ability to stand 8 hours on concrete floor
· Ability to bend/stoop to floor level up to 50 times per 8-hour shift
