Express Employment Professionals in Lynchburg is seeking a PV Technician for a client in the Lynchburg area. This position supports solar panel production in a technical manufacturing environment. The role involves operating high-tech production equipment, monitoring processes, inspecting materials, and helping ensure solar modules are built safely and accurately. Solar panel experience is not required, but candidates should be excited to learn technical work, comfortable around automated machinery, and ready to work in a fast-paced production setting.
Skills and Experience Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous manufacturing, production, machine operation, or technical work experience preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working around automated equipment
• Ability to use hand tools and follow technical work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies
• Comfortable working in a high-tech production environment
• Ability to stand for long periods and handle materials throughout the shift
• Dependable attendance, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean work area
• Solar panel experience is not required; training will be provided
Job Responsibilities
• Operate automated production equipment used in solar panel manufacturing
• Monitor production processes to help ensure efficiency, consistency, and product quality
• Assist with solar module assembly, including material preparation, layup, framing, soldering, laminating, and finishing tasks
• Handle raw materials and finished components safely throughout the production area
• Inspect materials and finished products for defects, flaws, or quality concerns
• Assist with basic testing or quality checks as trained, including visual inspections and equipment-based testing
• Follow standard operating procedures and technical specifications
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety expectations
• Communicate production, equipment, or quality concerns to supervisors
Pay and Schedule
Starting pay ranges from $20 to $26 an hour, depending on skills and experience. The position is expected to begin on June 1. Training will take place on the day shift, with 8 to 9-hour shifts scheduled between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm. After training, associates should expect to move to 12-hour shifts, either 6:00 am to 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, based on the assigned shift.
