Purchasing Manager Opening!
As Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, negotiating supplier agreements, managing procurement activities, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring material availability to support production requirements. You will work closely with Planning, Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure supply chain decisions support organizational goals and customer commitments.
The Scope
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop supplier relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and service agreements.
- Establish supplier performance expectations and accountability measures.
- Develop and maintain supplier scorecards and performance reviews.
- Lead supplier corrective action activities when quality or delivery issues arise.
- Monitor market conditions and proactively identify sourcing opportunities and supply chain risks.
- Establish strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
- Manage daily purchasing activities to support production requirements and customer commitments.
- Review and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, fabricated components, consumables, tooling, equipment, and services.
- Monitor open purchase orders and proactively expedite critical materials when required.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information within ERP/MRP systems.
- Ensure purchased materials meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Analyze purchasing spend, supplier performance, and procurement trends.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and material flow.
- Experience negotiating supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and commercial terms.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make sound business decisions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and accountability.
