Responsibilities/Duties

The Bruce Company is looking for a strategic, analytical, and collaborative Purchasing Manager to lead our growing procurement team. You’ll oversee purchasing for both our Retail Garden Center and Landscape Services divisions, working cross-functionally with sales, design, information technology, project coordinators and distribution teams to ensure smart buying, accurate forecasting, and efficient inventory management.

You’ll also get the chance to work alongside some of the top leaders in the industry while helping us evolve a high-performing, data-driven purchasing department.

What you’ll do:

• Lead a team of buyers and specialists
• Build and execute procurement strategies across multiple business lines
• Collaborate with other departments to manage inventory and control costs
• Analyze data and trends to improve forecasts and purchasing decisions
• Negotiate vendor contracts and manage supplier performance

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
• Strong analytical and budgeting skills
• Project management and organizational strengths
• Skilled in vendor negotiation 
• A leadership mindset and passion for process improvement

Schedule

• Schedule Hours: Typical work hours are Monday through Friday. 
• Position Type: Full-time year round position.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Work environment: Duties are performed indoor office environments.
• Standard Office Conditions: Involves exposure to office environments with heating, air conditioning, and computer operation.
